In Afghanistan, 10 women belonging to the minority community of called Hazara are practicing the ancient martial arts of Shaolin. They are not only preparing for participation in the Shaolin World Championships in China. But the martial arts will also aide in self-defence on the streets of Kabul.
Fifteen hundred years ago Afghanistan’s Buddhists were carving the giant sandstone statues in Bamiyan in 500 A.D., Buddhists in China were creating martial arts in the Shaolin temple in Henan Province.
